As Mother Nature changes her colors for the Fall season, Steamtown National Historic Site is scheduling train excursions through some of the most beautiful fall countryside of the nearby Pocono Mountains. A total of ten fall foliage excursions, all powered by historic diesel locomotives, are planned for this season. Reservations open 9/23.
Steamtown NHS will host a photography exhibit featuring works of Daniel Troy titled, "Railroad Photography of Daniel Troy." The exhibit is on since August 25, the National Park Service Centennial birthday, and will be on display during Railfest 2016 (September 3 and 4) through December 31, 2016. Included with daily park entrance fee.

Steamtown National Historic Site will host an entrance fee-free week to celebrate National Park Week from Saturday, April 16 through Sunday, April 24. This year is the National Park Service’s centennial. The Baldwin Locomotive Works #26 will also return to steam this week.

As we gear-up for the National Park Service (NPS) Centennial in 2016, Steamtown National Historic Site will join with the more than 400 NPS units to celebrate the 99th birthday of "America's Best Idea" with an Entrance Fee Free Day. Train ride fares are not included.

Steamtown NHS plans to host Railfest 2015. The National Park Service site works with numerous partners to present this annual end-of-summer event, which is a celebration of railroading, will feature special guest, Nickel Plate Road #765 steam locomotive.
