“Hollywood Rides the Rails" at Steamtown National Historic Site in the Changing Exhibits Gallery. 20th-century train-themed films and the stars that rode them. Judge Thomas I. Vanaskie, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and a nationally renowned legal scholar, will be the principal speaker at a free program at Steamtown NHS, 9:30-11:30am. The program is titled "The Ashley Special – The Train that Changed the Common Law."
"Go Wild!" with National Park Week at Steamtown NHS. Begins with Entrance Fee-Free days on April 19 and 20, seasonal start of train rides with "Scranton Ltd" and new "Nay Aug Ltd" trips, National Junior Ranger Day on April 26, and special children's programs at 1 pm on both Saturdays, April 19 and 26.
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute will hold its 11th annual CASUAL (Colon Cancer Awareness Saves Unlimited Adult Lives) Day. Individuals and organizations can purchase a specially designed t-shirt for $15, or pin for $5 and dress CASUAL. Proceeds raised from CASUAL Day stay right here in northeast PA.
