The Town of Tusten now has an online calendar that shows the dates not only of the main town council and board meetings, but also meetings of committees like the zoning rewrite committee and design committee. Other events of importance to the town, like last weekend’s plant swap and the July 22 RiverFest, are also included. The new director of the Western Sullivan Public Library (WSPL), Kristin White, was at the Tusten-Cochecton branch on June 4 and Jeffersonville branch on June 6 to meet and greet members of the public. A third opportunity to meet White is scheduled for June 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delaware Free branch in Callicoon, NY. White will oversee all three branches. Read more

The proposed esplanade, which would run behind the stores on Main Street and above the Upper Delaware River, continues to stir emotions. A group of residents have complained loudly because the town is spending about $154,000 for a design for the project, with about half of the money coming from a state grant and the rest coming from the town. Town officials committed to spending the money more than three years ago in order to receive the grant. Read more
When Brad Marchesin and his grandson Todd Bianchi announced on March 18 that they were going out for a Sunday afternoon motorcycle ride, Grandma Donna had Todd change into long pants, a leather jacket and boots.
