The Tusten Town Council met on Tuesday, October 8. Councilman Ned Lang was not in attendance. During the division reports, Andrea Reynosa of the Tusten Local Development Corporation (TLDC) reported that they had recently met and discussed the audit of the TLDC. She said that there are no funds to cover the cost of the audit, and that if it cannot be done, the TLDC will dissolve by January. She also mentioned that a private citizen might pay for the cost. However, if the TLDC dissolves, the Tusten Community Garden will still function. Read more

The 85th annual Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association (SCVFA) parade will be in Narrowsburg this year on Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m. The parade is hosted by the Narrowsburg Fire Department, and 2013 marks the 111th year of community service for the department. The SCVFA parade returns to Narrowsburg for the first time in nearly 40 years. Read more

The second annual Big Eddy Film Festival will be held this weekend in Narrowsburg at the Tusten Theatre from Friday to Sunday. The festival will include 28 films, from feature films, to documentaries, to shorts and animation. There will be something for everyone. Read more
