New faces were at the helm and around the table as the Upper Delaware Council (UDC) kicked off the new year at its January 5 meeting. Firefighters from six companies responded to a fire in the flats on the morning of January 9. Smoke billowed out of a large hole in the roof of the structure as firefighters worked to make the building safe enough to inspect. Read more

Now that developer Ilwon Kang is out of the picture for good, members of the community and the school board are once again discussing the future of the Narrowsburg School building. The board of the Sullivan West Central School district would very much like to sell the building and the 14 acres of land across the street. They have issued a request for proposals to real estate professionals to actively market the building, and will select a realtor on December 22. Read more
The Town of Tusten joined a handful of municipalities in the state, and became the first town in Sullivan County to ban gas drilling and hydraulic fracturing when the town board voted on November 28 to adopt an updated zoning code. Read more
