NYSEG to distribute a round of dry ice and water to customers without power

Sullivan County Manager David Fanslau announced that New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) will distribute another round dry ice and bottled water to their customers that remain out of power from the impacts associated with Hurricane Irene. The distribution points are as follows from 12:00 noon today while supplies last.

1. Fallsburg Police Department 19 Railroad Avenue, South Fallsburg (845) 434-4422.

2. White Lake Fire House on Route 17B in White Lake.

Sullivan County manager declares a state of emergency

Sullivan County manager David P. Fanslau declared a state of emergency in Sullivan County effective 12:01 am, Sunday, August 28, 2011 and to continue through 5:00 pm, Monday, August 29, 2011. A state of emergency is issued under Article 2B of New York State Executive Law. The County of Sullivan is communicating with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service to discuss the potential track of the storm.  Read more

Humvee for Sullivan Sheriff’s Office

There was a hulking black vehicle sitting on the lawn outside the government center in Monticello on August 18. It was a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, better known as Humvee, which once belonged to the U.S. Army at Fort Drum.  Read more
