Microenterprise grants awarded

A total of $165,000 in grant funding has been awarded to 11 Sullivan County businesses under the county’s Microenterprise Assistance Program (MAP). The program targets Main Street businesses that are located within downtown areas and provide goods and services, and “Agri-business” enterprises, including farms, agriculture support businesses and businesses that process farm products.  Read more

Resolution to reverse Citizens United

MONTICELLO, NY — Members of the Sullivan County branch of the grassroots organization MoveOn will introduce a draft resolution to the Sullivan County Legislature’s public session on Thursday, June 21 at 2 p.m. in the County Administration building to nullify the 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision known as “Citizens United,” which, combined with other recent Supreme Court rulings, has resulted in unlimited anonymous funding to political campaigns.
