The Calico Geese Quilters invite quilters of all abilities to make a quilt block for 2 community quilts: Quilt of Remembrance (in memory of a loved one or those who have served), and/or Quilt of Celebration (celebrating Sullivan County/great outdoors) at the library, 6:30-8pm. Materials/supplies avail., Calico Geese members avail. for explanation & help. Finished quilts displayed through the county & at Sullivan County Museum (Hurleyville) & 3rd Annual Airing of the Quilts at Bethel Woods Harvest Festival (9/11). New quilters welcome. On July 6th 2011 Village of Liberty Detectives with the assistance of the New York State Police made the final of four arrests concluding a nearly two week long investigation into the theft and forgery of prescriptions from a Liberty doctor’s office.  Read more

On 06/20/11 the Liberty Police arrested William Blume 27 years old of Liberty, for Burglary in the Second Degree a Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree and Petit Larceny both Misdemeanors.

It is alleged that Blume entered an apartment at 84 Champlin Avenue and stole a Television and a guitar. Blume was arraigned in Town Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $10,000.00 bail.
