Liberty holiday parade and tree lighting ceremony

The Town of Liberty third annual Town of Liberty Holiday Parade in conjunction with the Town’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony, Main St., 6pm. Following the parade the annual Tree Lighting will take place at the Town Hall and Liberty Main Street Stage. Light refreshments will be served. 845/292-7690.

The first annual Team Young Kick-a-Thon will be held at Young’s Tae Kwon Do School, 99-101 S.Main Street, 10-11:30am. Each athlete has spent the last few weeks recruiting sponsors to donate pledges based on how many kicks they can throw in a 90-minute period. Email TeamYoungTKD@gmail.com.

Catskill Mountain Chapter of Hadassah meeting

The Catskill Mountain Chapter of Hadassah will have its Chanukah Dinner Meeting at Yiasu Restaurant, 6:30pm. Bring your menorah for display and an interesting family story, if you have one. Liberty town board accepts preliminary budget, sets public hearing

At their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on October 21, the Liberty Town Board accepted the preliminary budget for 2014 as presented to them by budgeting and accounting coordinator Cheryl Gerow.

A public hearing for the preliminary budget is scheduled for Monday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 120 North Main Street in Liberty.  Read more

Ground breaking for red meat facility; A community project 10 years in the making

The project has been on the drawing board for at least 10 years, with numerous twists and turns along the way. Now, finally, the earth-moving machines are moving lots of earth in preparation of the Southern Catskills Red Meat Processing Facility.  Read more
