On Sunday June 17th ,2012 Village of Liberty Police arrested Jeffrey Rowland, 26 or Liberty after responding to a dispute at the Liberty Commons apartment complex. While police were responding to the 911 call they found Rowland and the female victim in the middle of nearby Carrier Street. Rowland had followed the victim and continued to assault her.  Read more

The New York State Department of Health has awarded Sullivan County $1.1 million for improvements to the county nursing home located in Liberty. The county had applied for this funding in February, through a competitive grant process.  Read more
