Family Fun & Fitness Day

Sullivan West high school invites all community members to its first annual Family Fun & Fitness Day at the Lake Huntington location, 10am-2pm. Cochecton endorses Class III gaming

The Town of Cochecton board passed two resolutions at its August 14 regular monthly meeting aimed at making Sullivan County more attractive and prosperous. One resolution endorsed pending New York State legislation designed to permit a limited number of Class III gaming facilities within the mid-Hudson region, defined to include Sullivan and Ulster counties. Another set hearing dates for review and determination of further action on decaying properties containing unsafe structures.  Read more

Cochecten Democrats endorse candidates

The Cochecton Democratic Club has endorsed six candidates for November’s election. Pictured at a recent “Meet and Greet” at Tony’s on the Lake Restaurant are Steve Sauer, justice incumbent, left; Joan Glase, town council; Sullivan County chair Scott Samuelson; Dr. Paul Salzberg, town council; Craig Fine, justice incumbent. Hollye Schulman, town clerk, and Eileen Hennessy, tax collector, both incumbents, are missing from the picture, because they were busy meeting and greeting.

Results of Cochecton Democratic caucus

The Cochecton Democratic Caucus was held on July 18 at the town hall. Hollye Schulman, the incumbent town clerk, was nominated to run again for the position. Eileen Hennessy, the incumbent tax collector, was nominated again; Steven Sauer and Craig Fine, both incumbent judges, were also re-nominated. Dr. Paul Salzberg and Joan Glase were nominated to run for seats on the town board.  Read more
