The Sullivan West Student Council is sponsoring a clothing fundraiser at the high school in Lake Huntington until Monday, May 25. A dumpster donated by Thompson’s Sanitation is next to the parking circle at the high school for your convenience in dropping off bags.

"Sing With the Angels" to benefit area food pantries

The Transformation Choir will present the Christmas Cantata "Sing With the Angels" by Joel Raney at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church, 2pm. Other holiday music will be included. It's a free concert with donations to benefit area food pantries. Refreshments will follow.

Benefit spaghetti dinner

Benefit for Addison Umbaugh and his family at the Lake Huntington Firehouse, 5-8pm. Addison is a six-month-old who has been diagnosed with glucose and galactose malabsorbsion, a rare deficiency that makes it difficult to process foods. Donation: $10, 12 and under $7.

Narrowsburg school sale falls through

According to a source who has been reliable in the past, and is familiar with proposed sale of the Narrowsburg School, the deal fell through at the closing table either on September 12 or the previous day.

The source said the attorneys were at the closing table and Joan Buto, the person who wanted to buy the school and turn it into a drug and alcohol rehab facility, appeared at the closing and raised the price of the school from $751,000 to $1.5 million, doubling the asking price.  Read more
