Cooperage building opens with gala celebration; space dedicated to the community

The old Cooperage building at 1030 Main Street, which was built in 1861, will get a new lease on life with plans to make the historic facility a common space for community activities.
The kick-off celebration will be held on Saturday, June 2 with two sessions: one from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and one from 8 p.m. to afterhours.  Read more

Leeward workers begin repairs to the Honesdale municipal pool

Workers from the Leeward Company are doing repair work at the Honesdale pool free of charge. “We want to see the pool open for the community so we are donating all the concrete work at the site,” said Eric Linde, owner of the company. Some other businesses have joined the effort and Linde encourages more to come on board.
