Burglary at residence on Ridge Street in Honesdale

Between June 25 and July 15, a burglary occurred at a residence on Ridge Street in Honesdale. A black and silver Dell laptop with a broken screen, two tackle boxes, several fishing poles and an orange colored 90 cc 4-wheeler were just a few of the items reported missing. Honesdale Borough Police are investigating. Anyone with information should call the Honesdale Borough Police Department at 253-1900. All calls are confidential and Ptlm. Third generation Iphone reported stolen from Honesdale residence

Honesdale – A phone was reported stolen from a residence on East Street in the Honesdale Borough. An unknown person/s was reported to have taken the phone from the victim’s East Street residence. The victim reported the theft on 7/16/11, at approximately 7:45 p.m. The phone is a third generation I phone, black in color.  Read more

Honesdale blotter items

On Monday 07/11/2011 Honesdale Borough Police responded to the area of 130 Grandview Avenue for a two car crash. A 2007 Doge Nitro, being operated by 73 year old Robert Dougher of Honesdale, was traveling east on Grandview Avenue. Dougher began to slow down to turn right into a parking lot.

As Dougher began to turn, a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, being operated by 20 year old Matthew Hafler of Honesdale, impacted the rear of Dougher’s vehicle. Hafler stated he took his eyes off the road, and when he looked back in front of him, he was unable to avoid Dougher’s vehicle.  Read more

Honesdale Police had busy week investigating crimes

Napkin dispensers outside The Gravity Ice Cream store on 6th Street in Honesdale were lit on fire sometime between the night of July 4 and early morning of July 5. The dispensers were hanging on the wall outside the store. The fire extinguished itself within the dispensers, without causing damage to the building. The person who lit the fire is not known at this time.  Read more
