Hawley assesses storm damage

Borough officials are calculating costs incurred during torrential rain in late June that damaged streets, businesses and residences. The storm dumped about four inches of rain there, overwhelming storm drains and catch basins. A state of emergency was declared, and the council hopes to receive financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.  Read more

Hawley wins paint job

Hawley has been named one of 20 communities throughout the United States and Canada to win a contest to have its downtown Main Avenue storefronts repainted—for free. The contest, called “Main Street Matters,” was sponsored by paint manufacturer Benjamin Moore. The contest involved having people vote online. Among the list of 100 towns nominated was Narrowsburg, NY.  Read more
