Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. Drop or Swap and 7 p.m. Public Program at the PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center, Rt. 6. As part of America Recycles Day, PPL will offer a Book Drop or Swap and free public program. Bring your hard covers and paperbacks to drop off. You can swap an old book for a new book. Join us after the drop or swap for “What is old is new again: Reduce, reuse, recycle.” This program will present information about how to recycle everything from plastics and aluminum to bicycles and refrigerators. Local orgs receive grants to preserve region’s assets
Against an appropriate backdrop of tumbling waterfalls, dramatic rock outcroppings and flaming fall foliage, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) awarded 17 grants totaling $100,000 to representatives of communities and organizations assembled at Ledges Hotel in Hawley on October 3.
