Diggin’ the plants in Eldred

Lou Monteleone has created the Corner Community Garden in Eldred because he says he would like there to be a peaceful place where people can socialize. Monteleone is the president of Eldred’s Lion’s Club, and he owns the land on which the garden is located. He says the idea of the garden originated from a community garden in Liberty.  Read more

World Trade Center artifact heads for Highland

A 380-pound piece of steel from the World Trade Center (WTC) is making its way from New York City to the Town of Highland. The artifact will be used to establish a WTC Memorial honoring all emergency service providers. Town of Highland Supervisor Andrew Boyar made the announcement at the town meeting in Eldred on May 10.  Read more
