The 48 graduates of the Eldred Central School District walked fearlessly to receive their diplomas at the commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 22. Those who will take part in the 2013 Hudson Valley Arthritis Walk will be walking in part for two local children, Jailyn and Sami, Eldred Central School students who were identified only by their first names. Both of these young girls have been waging a war against juvenile arthritis from an early age. Juvenile arthritis is a disease of the immune system, which causes this normal defense system to attack its own cells and tissues. There are 300,000 children in the U.S. who suffer from the debilitating disease. Read more
