Cicada Mania at PEEC

Native Plants Walk
Join the Pike County Scenic Rural Character Preservation Program and the Delaware Highlands Conservancy for a Native Plants Walk at the Beaver Run Hunting and Fishing Club property, 9am-12pm. Bird walk
A birding program, Bird Walk, will be held at PEEC. Darryl Speicher, from the Pocono Avian Research Center, will lead a hike focusing on the identification of birds and their unique natural history. The program is most appropriate for ages 10+; binoculars and field guides will be provided. Cost: free for PEEC members, $5 for non-members. Visit www.peec.org.
Warbler Weekend
Warbler Weekend will begin on Friday evening, May 10 & continue through Sunday afternoon, May 12. Guided field trips will be led by Darryl Speicher, from the Pocono Avian Research Center, and other experienced guides who will identify birds by sight, sound and habitat. To register, call PEEC at 570/828-2319. The cost of the weekend is $195, which includes 2 nights of lodging & 6 meals. Commuter & day rates are also available.

Introduction to Fly Fishing class
The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is hosting a new series for outdoor sport enthusiasts. The first class is Introduction to Fly Fishing, taught by Tom Battista from the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited, 10am-12 noon. Cost: $20 for one class, or $50 to attend all three classes in the Sportsman Series. 570/828-2319.
