Dueling fracking films; ‘Gasland Part ll’ and ‘FrackNation’

There will likely be more than 300 people in the seats at the Callicoon Theatre on June 8, when the screening of “Gasland Part II” and conversation with director Josh Fox is held. It’s not clear how many people will crowd into the Sidetracks Bar & Lounge next door to the theatre when the movie “FrackNation” will also be shown, along with a conversation with director Phelim McAleer. Kristina Kares raises $10,000; Money raised for literacy programs

A fundraiser held at Villa Roma Hotel and Resort raised $10,000, and marks a successful event for Kristina Assistance Relief Efforts Services (Kristina Kares), the non-profit organization that was founded in the memory of Kristina Adams. Adams was murdered in August 2012 in Damascus, PA by Rodney Ezrapour, according to the Wayne County District Attorney. Ezrapour then turned the gun on himself.  Read more
