Shandelee Music Festival: Lana Trotovšek and Anna Shelest

The Shandelee Music Festival partners with Bethel Woods Center for the Arts to co-produce a concert featuring Lana Trotovšek, violin, and Anna Shelest, piano, at the Bethel Woods Event Gallery. Dar Williams, pollinators and kids

“The Woodstock Festival that happened here had a lot of dreamers,” said Dar Williams, a Hudson Valley singer and songwriter, at the start of her educational program for kids about the importance of helping bees and other pollinators at Bethel Woods Conservatory on August 14, before the 45th Woodstock anniversary weekend. She continued that first-you-have-to-dream-and-then-make-it-happen philosophy, singing “Wake Up and Move Your Body Around” and getting the kids who were attending a summer camp up dancing.  Read more

Drug arrest at Mysteryland Festival

On Friday, May 23, 2014, State Police in Liberty conducted a traffic stop on Perry Road in the town of Bethel around the Mysteryland festival. Evelyn C. Pierrepont, age 23, of Locust Valley, NY was a passenger in a 2009 Mercedes which was stopped for an equipment violation while approaching Mysteryland. She was charged with felony Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 4th (hallucinogen - LSD DMT), Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 7th (hash oil & 1.9 grams Molly/MDMA), Unlawful Possession of Marihauna, PHL prescription container violation.  Read more
