MIDDLETOWN, NY — In honor of National Hospital Week, May 11 to May 17, Orange Regional Medical Center announced its Star of the Year, Jayne O’Malley. O’Malley also earned this prestigious honor in 2005.

Erin Kirwin, Critical Care Registered Nurse, was chosen as the first honoree. Kirwan was honored for her care, compassion and professionalism while educating a patient and her family on the Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) process and advocating for and providing guidance to the patient and her family during the last days of life. PORT JERVIS, NY — On Thursday, May 1, Bon Secours Community Hospital celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Mental Health Department and a quarter century of its New Directions Unit.
Bon Secours Community Hospital, a member of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, has been treating mental illness for 20 years and providing rehabilitation, including “New Directions,” a detoxification program, for over 25 years. Read more
PORT JERVIS, NY — May was Mental Health Month and in recognition of the importance of informing the public on how to protect behavioral health and promote general well being Bon Secours Community Hospital hosted an all day Behavioral Health Family Fun Fair.

MIDDLETOWN, NY — Physicians and staff of Crystal Run Healthcare came together to raise funds for the 2014 Hudson Valley Walk to Cure Arthritis held on May 3 at Thomas Bull Memorial Park. Eleven employee teams raised a total of $14,208 in donations to benefit the walk. Including Crystal Run Healthcare’s corporate sponsorship, a grand total of $19,208 was donated to the New York chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, benefactor of the Walk to Cure Arthritis. Read more
