Speedway postpones pre-season practice

BETHEL, NY — The harsh winter has forced the Bethel Motor Speedway (BMS) to postpone its scheduled preseason practice, originally slated for Saturday, April 12, to the following Saturday, April 19.
“With significant snowfalls and a slow warm-up, there is still snow on the property,” stated BMS Business Operations Manager Tracy Chirico. “We believe that our racers and fans deserve a quality experience when we swing open the gates, so we feel it is in everyone’s best interests to postpone practice.”  Read more

Catskill Farms builds showcase home for Country Living Magazine

ELDRED, NY — Charles Petersheim, Hudson Valley designer, builder, and realtor of traditional homes in the Catskill Mountains, has been selected by Country Living Magazine to build its 2014 House of the Year. The 1,500 square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom house, located in Rhinebeck, will be showcased during the annual Country Living Fair this June. Other Shop to open season with new look, expanded hours

HONESDALE, PA — When the Other Shop opens for the season on April 7, it will debut a new look, expanded hours and a new way of doing business. The former consignment shop at 1036 Main St., Honesdale, was renovated over the winter and will now operate as a donation-only thrift store. The shop is operated by the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to benefit the hospital’s programs and services.  Read more

In August 2013, the company lost Diane Bernstel, the wedding coordinator for over 20 years. Loeschorn is from Milford where she is on the borough council. She brings with her expertise and experience cultivated while owning the Dimmick Inn in Milford for almost 20 years (1989-2008) and the Windy Dog Bistro (2009-2011). She is a graduate of the University of Scranton, East Stroudsburg University and the University of Kansas.

GHP offers free business seminar
