"If someone thinks that peace and love are just a cliche that must have been left behind in the '60s, that's a problem. Peace and love are eternal." — John Lennon
BETHEL, NY — Every year, thousands flock to Sullivan County to reminisce, re-live and create new memories in honor of the world-famous Woodstock Music and Art Fair held on the grounds of Yasgur’s Farm in August of 1969. While music lovers of all ages and Woodstock alumni can be found throughout the region, many favor camping, playing and celebrating in the adjacent woods, where the legacy lives on with three days of merriment, music and drumming, honoring those who have trod the hallowed grounds in years past. As the party grew, so did the rarefied atmosphere that embraced John Lennon’s words that still reverberate to this day—”All we are saying, is give peace a chance.”
