HONESDALE, PA — This year’s Honesdale for the Holidays event will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26, sponsored by The Dime Bank. In addition to the many seasonal open houses offered by local shops and restaurants, there will be a variety of events and entertainment. The Fred Miller Pavilion on Main Street will be alive with holiday music on both days, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

There’ll be a Santa Parade on Friday, and on Saturday a free holiday shoppers’ trolley from 10 am. to 5 p.m. that will offer not only convenience, but a historic tour; Victorian carolers strolling the streets, an HO gauge railroad display by the Model Railroad Club in the Grace Episcopal Parish Hall on Church Street; and an open house at the Wayne County Historical Society (WCHS) Museum at 810 Main St. beginning at 4 p.m. At the WCHS event, you can bring a new unwrapped toy to put in the Toys for Tots collection box, enjoy holiday music, light refreshments, museum shopping, book signings and exhibit tours. And the Stourbridge Line rail excursions (www.thestourbridgeline.net, or 570/470-2697) will be offering Santa Express rides at 12 noon, 1 and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
