HONESDALE, PA — RiverFolk Concerts welcomes the return of Professional Smart Aleck Carla Ulbrich and Utterly Clever Songwriter Lois Morton for an evening of fun at The Cooperage on Saturday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Ulbrich is a comical singer/songwriter and guitarist from Clemson, SC, currently living in New Jersey. Primarily known for writing humorous songs about such topics as wedgies, Waffle House, Klingons, and how rich she would be if she had a copyright on the ‘F’ Word, she cites her biggest musical influences as Sesame Street, camp songs and catfood commercials. She is also a survivor of catastrophic illness and author of the resulting book, “How Can You NOT Laugh at a Time Like This?”

Morton began writing songs in the late ‘60s, and at the suggestion of Pete Seeger, had several topical songs published in Broadside Magazine. After a long hiatus, which included raising a family, teaching, writing children’s books and ESL textbooks, she returned to songwriting in the mid-’90s. In 2008, she received a doctorate in adult education from Columbia University. She currently focuses on humorous songs of social commentary on subjects such as clutter, cell phones, psychotherapy and dietary issues.

The suggested donation is $20 reserved, $25 at the door. Snacks are available for purchase. For more information or to make a reservation call 845/252-6783 or visit riverfolkconcerts.com.
