HONESDALE, PA — The Cooperage Project will present “Romping Radishes,” a new healthy-living series for kids. The purpose of this series is to help kids think about the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. During each workshop, designed for six to 10-year-olds, youngsters will take part in a variety of hands-on and interactive activities that will reinforce the topic at hand.

The first workshop will be held on Saturday, May 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. During each workshop, instructors will shine the spotlight on food, farming and healthy living in a general way, looking at the big picture, in part, through the lens of a single food item or food group, (like spinach or leafy greens, cheese or dairy products). The “food of the day” for this first workshop of the series will be carrots.

Call 570/253-2020 to reserve space. The suggested donation is $5; no one turned away. This class is made possible by a grant from The Wayne Memorial Health Foundation and support from the community.
