HONESDALE, PA — Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP) will present Honesdale for the Holidays, which is sponsored by Wayne Bank, on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29. Many of Honesdale’s stores and businesses will host open houses.

The Fred Miller Pavilion on Honesdale’s historic Main Street will be alive with holiday music on both days with DJ Tom Emanski on Friday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The holiday music is sponsored by GHP member RE/MAX WAYNE and Meagher Nationwide Insurance.

Friday, November 28 will also feature Honesdale’s annual Santa Parade. The parade kicks off at 6 p.m. and starts at Main and Fourth streets and proceeds to Central Park. Activities in the park immediately after the parade and co-sponsored by 95.3 DNH & Classic Hits 105.3, will include the lighting of the Star on Irving Cliff, the lighting of the Christmas tree in the park and holiday music. There will be time for the children to visit with Santa after the festivities.

On Saturday, November 29, craft vendors will dot Main Street near the pavilion. Victorian strollers will promenade the historic streets while the joyful voices of the Honesdale High School Chamber Choir offer carols as they stroll down on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Greater Honesdale Partnership will also offer a free holiday shopper’s trolley from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The trolley is sponsored by Beck, Gogolski, Poska & Co., Dirlam Bros. Lumber Co., and Grimm Construction. The Stourbridge Model Railroad Club will host an open house on Saturday, November 28 in the Grace Episcopal Parish Hall located at 827 Church St. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Model Railroad Club has created a large HO gauge railroad display that depicts the mythical town of Wayne. The newly renovated and expanded Wayne County Historical Society Museum will hold an open house on Saturday, November 29, at 4 p.m.
