HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale’s merchants will be going “Hollywood” at the 54th annual Sidewalk Sales on Friday and Saturday, July 18 and 19, sponsored by The Dime Bank with support from Wayne County Tourism. Main Street will be filled with merchandise offered by its local stores, area vendors, artists and area non-profits.

On both days, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be deals all over town and craft and novelty vendors, music under the Fred Miller Pavilion by DJ Tom Emanski, and Hollywood Letters Game under the Pavilion at 3 p.m. The fun moves to Central Park at 5 p.m. From 5 to 8 p.m. is a classic car cruise around the park. At dusk is a free family movie in the park under the stars. (In case of rain, the movie will be shown in the Grace Episcopal Parish Hall on Church St., next to the park). Bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

There will also be exhibits at the newly expanded and remodeled Wayne County Historical Society, 810 Main St. The museum will be open both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Wayne County Farmers Market will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., located in front of Dave’s Super Duper, 220 Willow Ave. featuring many items made and grown locally.

While Honesdale is an accessible town, scooter rentals will be available at Stephens Pharmacy/NE Med-Equip, located at 1101 Main St. (570/253-7700), for your shopping convenience. Full-day rentals are available for $25 per day and hourly rentals begin at $15 for the first two hours with $5 for each additional hour up to $25. Call 570/253-7700 for additional information.
