MONTICELLO, NY — For the benefit of Monticello youth and community members, the Youth Committee of the Monticello Interfaith Council is holding an ongoing series of free movies in Monticello. The group holds a Friday evening showing and a Sunday afternoon showing each month at the Ted Stroebele Recreation Center at 10 Jefferson St. Snacks will be available for 50 cents.

“A Series Of Unfortunate Events,” will show on Friday, July 18 at 6 p.m. When a massive fire kills their parents, three children are delivered to the custody of cousin and stage actor Count Olaf, who is secretly plotting to steal their parents’ vast fortune. Rated PG.

“Rio 2,” will show on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. It’s a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they’re hurtled from Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets his father-in-law. Rated G.
