HURLEYVILLE, NY — Radio station WJFF and The Friends of Maris Hearn present the eighth annual Life Celebration Concert featuring The Gabriel Butterfield Band on Saturday, June 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Sullivan County Museum.
Gabriel Butterfield is the eldest son of the late, great Chicago blues harmonica player Paul Butterfield. Gabriel grew up on the road, touring with his father and surrounded by extraordinary musicians. He currently lives in Woodstock and tours with his own band fronted by Blues Brothers original member Rob Paparozzi. The band also includes Pete Levin, keyboards; Jimmy Eppard, guitar and vocals; and Jim Curtin, bass and vocals. Gabe plays drums and sings, and his extensive history of performance includes tours with Sonny Rhodes, Joey Gillmore, Charlie Musselwhite and Little Sammy Davis.
Speaking about his current band Gabe says “these seasoned music veterans have all come together in mutual respect for my father—to honor one of music’s legendary pioneers, for which I am very touched and forever grateful.” For more information visit their website at www.gabrielbutterfield.com.
Admission is a $15 donation to benefit WJFF. For directions visit www.sullivancountyhistory.org or call 845/434-8044 or 845/482-4141. For further information, call 845/482-4141.
