May 21, 2014

MILFORD, PA — The Upper Delaware GLBT Center (UDGLBT) will hold its inaugural tea party, herb growing and recipe class with the Mad Hausfrau, Lora Wiley-Lennartz, and gardening specialist, Doug Cramer, on Sunday, June 1, (rain date June 15) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a private home.

The tea party includes a spread with teas, baked goods and petite treats all made with homegrown herbs and flowers. Cramer will teach tips on planting, growing and harvesting herbs as well as review different ways herbs can be used in design concepts of gardens. He will also lead a tour of the gardens. Participate in a demo with The Mad Hausfrau where you will learn to infuse your own oils, vodkas and syrups as well as flavoring sugars and salts with herbs and flowers. Each participant will have the opportunity to seed and take home their own herb plants. Bring home steeped creations and a recipe handbook.

There is a $25 fee per person, proceeds benefit the UDGLBT. Reservation is required by emailing lorawiley@gmail.com by May 28; at that time the location will be disclosed via email. All are welcome.
