Milford Christmas concert with German vocal ensemble

MILFORD, PA — One of Germany’s most prominent vocal groups, Clamus, will perform at the Milford Theatre at 5:30 p.m. on December 14. Calmus will perform seasonal music from the Renaissance through modern times.

Winner of both the ECHO Klassik and Supersonic awards, Calmus’ five vocalists have been together since 1999, during which time they’ve recorded 15 albums (including “Calmus Christmas Carols,” 2009), and performed at Carnegie Hall, as well as venues throughout Europe and North and South America. Featuring a soprano, countertenor, tenor, baritone and bass, Calmus will perform familiar favorites from Renaissance times (“Coventry Carol”), the “Gloria” from Bach’s great Magnificat, Christmas music by Poulenc, and 20th-century standards (“White Christmas,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”) from their Christmas carol album.

Tickets cost $20 at the box office or $15 when purchased in advance at kindredspiritsarts.org. Tickets can also be bought at Books and Prints at Pear Alley, 220 Broad Street, Milford. Children under 15 are admitted free.
