Festival celebrates rural life

DAMASCUS, PA — The Harvest Festival, a time to celebrate the joys of rural life, will be held at the Galilee Unity Grange on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is sponsored by the Damascus Area United Methodist Churches through the outreach ministries of the PEARLCenter for rural ministry (PEARL stands for Preserving, Enriching and Appreciating Rural Life.)

A Blessing of the Animals service will be held at 12 noon. Bring your pets on leashes, in halters, or contained. A hearty harvest meal will be available for purchase and take-out. A bake sale, fair trade items and plant tables will be stocked by the United Methodist Women of our churches. Farm, quality craft and rural life venders will have educational displays and items for sale. There will be music to enjoy and fun and games for children. Everyone is welcome. Call 570/224-4637.
