NARROWSBURG, NY — Jim Gaudet and The Railroad Boys, a national bluegrass band on the rise, will open the Tusten Theatre’s fall season on Saturday October 5 at 8 p.m. With the Railroad Boys, Mat Kane (violin), Bobby Ristau (upright bass) and Sten Isachsen (mandolin), Gaudet, the lead guitarist and singer, anchors his songs in classic roots music with a driving style firmly rooted in Americana. The band’s fourth CD, “Reasons That I Run,” highlights the latest collection of Jim’s stories and songs, with stories that range from not wanting to dance to a DJ at a family get together (“I Ain’t Getting’ Up”), to the murder of a gypsy boy in the quest of rescuing the girl with the golden hair (“Justify My Soul”). Tickets are $20 ($ 18 advanced sales for DVAA members).

The season continues when Delaware Valley Chamber Orchestra takes the stage on Saturday, October 11, 8 p.m. to present a new work by Kevin Vertrees, “Fluid Dynamics.” Created for four woodwind instruments and string quartet, Vertrees’ piece will share the program with works by Malcolm Arnold and Bela Bartok. Admission is $15.

On Saturday, October 19, NACL presents “Shakespeare’s Will,” written by award-winning playwright Vern Thiessen. Performed as a chamber concert by Tannis Kowalchuk, with sound and music by Kurt Knuth, costuming by Karen Flood, and direction by Mimi McGurl, this full length one-act solo performance sheds light on William Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway. The play looks through the eyes and heart of a woman and mother who spent a lifetime with and without the great poet. Admission is $20 ($18 advanced sales for DVAA members).

The Tusten Theatre fall season ends with a bang, on Saturday, December 7 with “Once Upon A Time: The Best Holiday Show Ever – Even If You’ve Seen Them All!” This new holiday variety show featuring singing, dancing, and comedic acting is directed by Dave McCracken and produced by DJM Productions, in association with the DVAA. Shows will be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission costs $15 with discounts for seniors and children under 16 (not appropriate for under 5 years old).

The Tusten Theatre is located at 210 Bridge Street, Narrowsburg, NY. The fall series is presented by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. For tickets or information call 845-252-7272 or visit www.ArtsAllianceSite.org.
