JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The public is invited to attend a traditional barbeque dinner using the original Cornell University chicken recipe, with an old-fashioned dance to follow, on Saturday, September 28. Dinner is 6 to 7 p.m. and dancing is 7 to 10 p.m. at Bridle Hill Farm on 190 Hemmer Rd. This Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Sullivan County fundraiser will be one of many centennial celebration events offered this year and next.
Guests can enjoy a meal using a chicken barbeque recipe from Cornell in the 1950s, live music, dancing, hayrides, a bonfire, cash bar, and dessert donated by award-winning cake designer Kim Simons. A live auction of local products and services will take place throughout the evening.
Tickets cost $30 for adults and $15 for youth under 10 years of age. Paid, non-refundable, reservations are required by September 23. Purchase tickets by calling 845/292-6180 or mailing information and check or money order, made payable to Cornell Cooperative Extension SC, to 64 Ferndale-Loomis Rd., Liberty, NY 12754. All are advised to dress for farm barn conditions. Use of venue has been donated by Bridle Hill Farm.
