Free outdoor concert; Roots & Rhythm on Saturday

HONESDALE, PA — A day of free, live music awaits on Saturday, June 15 as Honesdale hosts its eighth annual Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival. Music starts at 10:30 a.m. with local bands performing throughout town. The main stage lights up at 1:30 p.m. in Central Park and “rocks on” until long after dusk.

Other events taking place during the day include the sixth annual Airing of the Quilts. Quilters from the tri-state area will hang their handmade treasures on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact Jackie Murphy at A Stitch in Time, 570/253-6864 or email AStitchInTime2@gmail.com.

Festival goers will have the chance to win a series of raffle prizes including a Fender Starcaster electric guitar, hand painted by local artist Jeff George; a 14 karat white gold and diamond heart-shaped necklace; a GP5500 Generac portable generator; and more. Winning tickets will be drawn and announced at 7 p.m. at the concert; winners do not have to be present.

Roots & Rhythm is co-presented by the Greater Honesdale Partnership and the Wayne County Arts Alliance.
