BUSHKILL, PA — The Animal Welfare Society of Monroe (AWSOM), a non-profit rescue organization, will hold its annual fundraiser on March 16 at the Fernwood Resort. Local Milford celebrity “Sugar” will host. Doors open at 5 p.m. Announcement of prizes starts at 7 p.m.

Organizers have collected 200 prizes, including a Coach handbag, a family suite at Great Wolf Lodge, golf at Sky Top Lodge and The Inn at Pocono Manor, plus designer fashion items from Chanel, Gucci, Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana and pre-made gift baskets from local businesses. To donate items for the tricky tray, call 570/223-7467.

The evening’s host, Sugar, was created by JamesAngelo, the owner of an event planning business in Milford. Sugar will entertain the adult audience guests and announce the winning ticket numbers. There will also be photo opportunities with Sugar. Advance tickets cost $25, and tickets at the door cost $30. Reserved VIP seating at $35 includes a goodie bag.

The shelter relies solely on volunteers and donations from the community to manage its expenses. Visit www.awsomanimals.org.
