NARROWSBURG, NY — “Be Mine Forever,” the fifth in a series of five exhibitions featuring photographs and poetry celebrating love, opens on Saturday, January 26 with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at Alliance Gallery, 37 Main St.

The “Be Mine” series marries these two art forms to express the stages of romance, heartbreak, matrimony and lasting love. The poetry will be transformed and displayed as a “poem object,” a physical rendition of the poem’s central image or images.

Mary Greene of the Upper Delaware Writers Collective will curate the poetry selections and Alliance Gallery director Rocky Pinciotti will curate the photographs.

The exhibition will include presentations by photographers describing their images, poets reciting their poems and singer Sharon Paige performing torch songs accompanied by pianist Bob Lohr, all in the Gloria Krause recital hall. The exhibition will also include the popular magnetic poetry wall.

New this year will be an opening night romance photo wall where gallery goers can have their photos taken for a slide show that will be replayed on a monitor in the gallery for the full run of the exhibition.

“Be Mine” runs until Saturday, February 16. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.ArtsAllianceSite.org or call 845/252-7576.
