MILFORD, PA —Safe Haven of Pike County, Inc. will hold a holiday open house on Wednesday, December 19, from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be light refreshments and holiday music.
For over two decades, Safe Haven has been Pike County’s sole crisis resource for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In the last fiscal year alone, they provided over 1500 hours of crisis intervention and supportive counseling to 735 survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including over 100 children. During that time, they offered safe shelter to 68 women and children in flight from dangerous and abusive circumstances. They also delivered a message of non-violence and individual dignity to over 2,500 students last year, so that the next generation of Pike County residents may live free from abuse. The community’s support has made this happen.
