Celebrate Catskill Art Society’s 40th anniversary

September 20, 2012

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — Catskill Art Society (CAS) will host a party to celebrate the organization’s 40th anniversary on Saturday, September 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the CAS Arts Center, located at 48 Main St.

Everyone is invited to enjoy a dinner catered by Flour Power Bakery and Café, wine from Eminence Road Farm Winery and Callicoon Wine Merchant and live music. Tours of CAS’s proposed second-floor theatre and performance space will also be provided.

With donations from CAS members and the community, Catskill Art Society purchased the CAS Arts Center building at 48 Main St. out of foreclosure in October 2011. The 4,500-square-foot first floor was renovated for CAS to become a tenant in 2007. Since purchasing the building, CAS has completed major work to reinforce and stabilize the foundation and roof of the 9,000 square foot building. Improving the building’s energy efficiency is next, and then on to the real fun: renovating the second floor into a theatre and performance space.

A $40 donation is suggested at the door. Advance reservations are required. Email ann@catskillartsociety.org or call 845/436-4227.
