MILFORD, PA — The Black Bear Film Festival’s art bears will soon return to the streets of Milford. The colorful, decorated, hand-crafted beasts are in town to promote the 13th annual fall film festival. Join them for light refreshments on August 11, between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., on the Milford Library lawn.

While viewing this year’s bears, you’ll also get to meet the artists and find out more about each individual bear and its character. Once you’ve chosen your favorite bear, you’ll have a chance to bid on it at this year’s festival, occurring October 12-14, when the bears are part of a silent auction.

The Black Bear Film Festival began in Milford, in 2000 when a small group of creative locals set out to produce an event that would support and promote innovate and independent films. The Black Bear Film Festival celebrates Milford’s rich film-making heritage and the conservation movement in tribute to Gifford Pinchot, who fathered the American conservation movement. The festival supports independent films, artistic expression, education, diversity and cultural enhancement, particularly promoting the region’s clean air and water, abundant wildlife, natural beauty and the entities that protect them.
