LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Shandelee Music Festival, hailed by Pianist Magazine of Great Britain as “one of the finest music festivals in the world,” returns this weekend with “An Evening of Chamber Music” at the Sunset Concert Pavilion at 8 p.m. on August 4. Featured will be renowned violist Arman Alpyspaev—who has toured the world, appearing at Carnegie Weill Hall and Alice Tully Hall and venues across Europe—with pianist Cullan Bryant.

Next up is another evening of chamber music, with David Requiro and pianist Cullan Bryant on August 7 at 8 p.m. San Francisco Classical Voice wrote that Requiro “has everything—musicianship poise, dazzling technique, and even that great indefinable, star quality.”

On August 9, Shandelee will welcome back alumnus Allen Yueh, a solo pianist, at 8 p.m. Yueh has made a name for himself as a world traveled pianist and was a first prize winner of the 2008 New York International Piano Competition.

For the first time in the festival’s history, Shandelee will present a choir in “An Evening of Choral Artistry,” featuring The Antioch Chamber Ensemble on August 11 at 8 p.m. The Sunset Concert Pavilion’s acoustics are ideally suited for the richness of sound of a live vocal ensemble. Antioch has performed across the globe, stopping in Carnegie Hall, Trinity Wall Street, and many other appearances in Canada, Spain, and France in their 14 years as an ensemble.

The final two concerts of the season will feature the International Artists of Shandelee on August 16 and 18 at 8 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively. These concerts showcase the young artists participating in the educational program, each performer being hand-picked by the artistic staff at Shandelee.

Each concert will be followed by a specialty dessert reception.
