MILFORD, PA — Hailed by The New York Times as “something extraordinary,” the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet will perform on Saturday, July 21, at 5:30 p.m. at Grey Towers National Historic Site.
Produced by the Kindred Spirits Arts Program in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service at Grey Towers, the event will be held outdoors in a tented pavilion rain or shine.
Since the Parker Quartet began touring in 2002, these four graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music have won the Concert Artists Guild Competition, the Grand Prix and Mozart Prize in Bordeaux and the Cleveland Quartet Award. They were the first-ever artists in residence with Minnesota Public Radio, and last year the group’s “Ligeti: String Quartets Nos. 1 & 2” album won a Grammy for Best Chamber Music Recording of the Year.
Tickets cost $20 at the door or $15 when purchased in advance at www.kindred spiritsprograms.org, or at Books & Prints at Pear Alley (570/296-4777), Milford, PA. Children under 15 are admitted free.
