HONESDALE, PA — RiverFolk concerts has a new home at The Cooperage on Main Strett in Honesdale. The premier concert in the new venue will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 8 p.m. It will feature Karen Savõca with Pete Heitzman.
Savoca (www.karensavoca.com) possesses a supple alto and a wide range of expression. Savoca’s “In the Dirt” was nominated in the category of Best Song by a Female Singer Songwriter by the grassroots music organization Just Plain Folks.
“Heitzman has a sly touch that, combined with Savoca’s in-the-pocket drumming and spectacularly soulful vocals, gives the duo the impact of a four-piece band,” wrote Acoustic Guitar Magazine, and Dirty Linen wrote, “An addictive blend of hybrid pop with lots of jazz whimsy and slippery funk.”
The suggested donation is $15 in advance, $18 at the door. BYOB. Light fare available from Willow River Café. Call 845/252-6783 for reservations. Visit www.riverfolk concerts.vpweb.com.
