A sun catcher for Gillinder

PORT JERVIS, NY — John Nivens, a student at Port Jervis High School, is the winner of the Gillinder Glass Design a Sun Catcher Contest. John designed a train to represent Port Jervis. A mold will be made of his design, and he is invited to press the first sun catcher, which he will be given as his prize for winning the contest. The second-place design, also a train, was submitted by Gabrielle Santoro, a student of Elaine Tedesco’s Hearts & Hands Art Center. Port Jervis High School student Samantha Sanfilippo’s eagle took third place. John, Gabrielle, Samantha and their designs will be represented in the 2013 annual Gillinder Glass Calendar. When the suncatcher goes into production shortly, you will be able to see it at www.gillinderglassstore.com.
