STERLING, PA — Antique tables, chairs, dishes and items from the old Sterling School are just some of the many things being auctioned off on June 9 at 9 a.m. at the Sterling United Methodist Church at 567 Sterling Road. It will be the first of a series of auctions to benefit projects at the church. It will benefit the renovations that were recently completed on the bell tower.
The church was founded in 1848 in Sterling Township. On the church grounds sits the church hall, which has had previous incarnations as the Sterling Grange Hall, the municipal building and the local school.
With Sterling’s history, auction goers can expect more than antiques: there will be electronics, sporting goods, tools and equipment. Some church members have donated brand new items such as dish sets.
