HANCOCK, NY — The Little Victory Players at The Capitol Theatre in Hancock will present the New Reality Players in a double header: “Sorry Wrong Number” by Lucille Fletcher, directed by Foster Daniel Jr., and “A Hot Bowl of Chili.” The plays will be presented on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m.
“Sorry Wrong Number” is a period piece that takes place in 1948. It was a radio play and a movie starring Barbara Stanwyck as the irritating bedridden hypochondriac who accidentally overhears two men on her phone planning a murder. “A Hot Bowl of Chili,” written and directed by Judith Present, follows two hungry truckers from Montana who stop at Mitzi Bell’s Diner just as she closes. It’s a diner famous for it’s “around town” chili. And Mitzi teaches them that a ugly man can make a woman feel just as good as a handsome one. Tickets cost $10.
The theatre is located at 170 E. Front St. Call 607/363-2819.
