Plant Swap & Bake Sale

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Narrowsburg Beautification Group’s (NBG) annual Plant Swap & Bake Sale will be held at the Mews on Narrowsburg’s Main Street, between Coffee Creations and Gerard’s River Grill, on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you have more plants than you need, bring them along and swap them for someone else’s extras. If you’d like more plants for your own garden but don’t have anything to swap, make a monetary donation to the Narrowsburg Beautification Group.

Those who don’t have a green thumb can contribute to the NBG by providing baked goods for the bake sale. If you wish to drop off plants or baked goods on Friday evening, email nbgtusten@gmail.com or call 845/252-7400 to make arrangements.

Two Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions. Susan Klikus concentrates on organic, sustainable gardening and grows vegetables, perennials and annuals, starting many from seed. Julieta Dunn specializes in roof-top gardening and also starts many of her plants from seed. Both Susan and Julieta received their Master Gardener certification from Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences and are life-long gardeners.

Stop in at the library at 198 Bridge Street to pick up labels for the plants you’ll be swapping. It is most helpful if you provide plant names and growing conditions for any plant contributions. If you cannot get to the library, labels can be printed from www.worksbyhand.com/PlantLabels.pdf.
