LIBERTY, NY — The first annual Sullivan Soapbox Derby will be held on Sunday, May 27, at 10 a.m. on North Main Street, between Charles and Columbia streets.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Aileen Gunther, New York State Assembly District 98, and Liberty supervisor Charlie Barbuti and mayor Rich Winters will preside over a ribbon cutting, after which the races will begin. There will be a winners’ circle and awards presentation. The event is presented by the Sullivan County Soap Box Derby and Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce; the Gold Sponsor is the Monticello Motor Club and the Silver Sponsor is Thunder 102.
