MILFORD, PA — Kindred Spirits will open its 2012 season of seven musical events on Saturday, June 2 with a screening of the film “Pull My Daisy,” with special guests David Amram and Janet Hamill. There will be a post-show discussion, poetry reading, and performance with Amram (www.davidamram.com) and accompanying artists. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Milford Theatre.
Subsequent evenings will feature Genticorum, with traditional music from Quebec (June 24 at 4 p.m.); ragtime pianist Masanobu Ikemiya, (August 18 at 7:30 p.m.); and The Essence of Joy Alumni Singers presenting an “African and African-American Musical Journey” (October 29 at 7:30 p.m.). All these events and most others in the series take place at the Milford Theatre.
Tickets to concerts cost $20 at the door or $15 when purchased in advance on Kindred Spirits’ website, www.kindred spiritsprograms.org, or at Books & Prints at Pear Alley (570/296-4777) in Milford. A season’s pass is available for $80. Children under 15 are admitted free.
